Recently, Li Dong, the manager of high-speed and high-frequency product line management for TE Connectivity's automotive business unit in China, delivered a speech at the annual conference of the wire harness industry, showcasing a series of measures and achievements of TE Automotive's business unit in China's manufacturing enabling automotive industry. At the same time, Cao Xize, Sales Director of TE Automotive Business Unit in China, attended the Summit Roundtable Forum as a nonvoting delegate to express opinions on industry development history, standards, trends, and hot issues.



At the round table summit, Cao Xize, Sales Director of TE Automotive Business Unit in China, shared insights on "New Energy Market Trends in the Next Five Years" and "How Suppliers Enable Complete Vehicle Manufacturers.". Cao Xize pointed out that, from an objective perspective, changes in the external environment are continuously affecting the automotive industry, and strengthening localized research and development and production is a practical and effective solution. As more and more industry chain partners accelerate the process of localization, TE can participate more and earlier in communication with vehicle manufacturers. The localization strategy of TE can be summarized in the following aspects:


1、Continuously expand the scale of local production in China and improve the localization rate.

2. Continue to reduce costs and increase efficiency, and improve production efficiency.

3. Technological innovation, such as the domestically designed stamping terminal series, significantly optimizes production efficiency and cost.

4. Empowering harness factory customers to optimize assembly processes and achieve automated production through product design innovation.

The vehicle manufacturer will determine the choice of Gigabit or 10 Gigabit Ethernet based on different vehicle models, application requirements, and cost considerations. "Regardless of the solution, TE has achieved localized design and production."







In terms of system architecture for vehicle data transmission, the traditional distributed functional control architecture has become increasingly classic. Currently, a new generation of centralized functional and location domain controlled architecture has achieved a leap from "scattered sand" to "functional integration" by "aggregating functions into domains.". At the same time, some links that mainly use one-way and high-frequency data transmission (such as cameras) are naturally more suitable for SerDes connection technology. The Ethernet connection system and miniaturized coaxial connection system produced by TE in China are tailored for the above applications. In addition, the new generation GEMNet multigigabit Ethernet connector developed by TE has a high speed and high frequency transmission rate of up to 25Gbps and 15GHz,laying out future connections in advance, and will be fully localized in the near future. As the chairman of TC9 in the Ethernet OPEN alliance, TE is actively collaborating with industry partners to develop more standard, efficient, and reliable next-generation solutions, such as differential and coaxial hybrid connectors NET-AX+, which can simultaneously meet the requirements of carrying high-speed digital signals and high-frequency analog signals.


For customers in the local wire harness industry in China, TE can deeply localize China's intelligent manufacturing, providing significant convenience in terms of crimping and assembly. From product consistency control, component process management, to lean manufacturing, to advanced crimping equipment, TE can provide mature, efficient, reliable, certified, and fast delivery data connection solutions.




As a vent industry, new energy has received increasing attention in recent years. For an electric/hybrid vehicle, its electric drive connection, charging connection, internal and external connection of the battery pack, and auxiliary power connection can all be used in TE related products and solutions.


With the diversification of new energy vehicles, electric drive connections increasingly require diversified and differentiated products to meet demand. For high endurance and high-power vehicles, current carrying capacity and safety level become key considerations; For small and lightweight minicars, there is a need for a solution that is sufficiently miniaturized, compact, and capable of carrying sufficient current carrying requirements. The CSJ high-voltage connection system independently developed by TE in China can perfectly match different needs, meeting different levels of wire diameter from 25m ㎡ to 120m ㎡, and current carrying capacity from 90A to 630A. The current carrying capacity is comprehensively superior to the market average, with a compact design that saves space, advanced vibration resistance, durable safety, and rich compatibility.


In terms of charging, it is also the second generation charging socket series independently developed by TE's local engineering team in China, covering different versions of national, European, American, and Japanese standards, which can support the assembly needs of vehicle manufacturers facing different national and regional standards. This series of products not only has more durable pluggable performance, sensitive built-in sensors, and better protection, but also greatly simplifies the assembly process in structural design, saving production time, and bringing the possibility of batch prefabrication and even automated production of wire harnesses to wire harness factories.
